We wanted to give you a quick update on what’s been happening behind the scenes with our campaign to save the Prince of Wales Theatre. Thank you for your continued interest and support as we work together to preserve this important community asset.
Trustee Group Progress
We are pleased to announce that a new series of meetings is in the pipeline as part of our commitment to secure the future of our theatre. The newly formed trustee group has been proactive and dedicated, having already held over two dozen meetings with various stakeholders. These consultations highlight our commitment and ongoing efforts to ensure the theatre’s longevity and success.
MP Support & Government Engagement
We are working closely with Josh Newbury, our MP, whose support has been invaluable. With Josh’s help, we are arranging meetings with various government departments to explore potential funding options. These discussions are crucial for our future initiatives, and we are hopeful that they will open new avenues for assistance and collaboration.
Charity Status Progress
Our charity application has been submitted to the Charity Commission, and we await the final sign-off. This application represents a significant step in our journey to take over the management of the theatre. In preparation for our fundraising activities, we have established a charity bank account, which will be activated once we receive confirmation from the council that we are the preferred partner moving forward.
Future Planning
We are actively developing plans that reflect our vision for the theatre’s future. These plans contain various ideas and aspirations, and we look forward to sharing more details as they develop. We are also looking forward to our first public meeting (date to be confirmed), which will be a key moment in organising our fundraising efforts and engaging with the wider community.
