At 6pm on Thursday 4th September, Cannock Chase District Council’s Cabinet will meet to decide the future of the Prince of Wales Theatre.
Right now, they are set to block Cannock Chase Theatre Trust (CCTT) from progressing to the Community Asset Transfer stage – a crucial step toward bringing the theatre into community ownership.
If this vote passes unchallenged, it could be the end of our chance to save and revitalise the theatre for our community.
We need you there!
Join us on 4th September from 5:30pm outside the Civic Centre on Beecroft Road. Bring your voice, your passion, your presence.

If you can’t be there in person, we’ll be livestreaming on our Facebook page so you can still stand with us virtually.
This gathering is about celebrating what the theatre means to us, and making our case powerfully but peacefully. Please remember:
- Keep signs and speeches focused on saving the theatre.
- No personal attacks, threats, or hostility.
- Our message is strongest when it’s about hope, culture, and community.
Together, we can show the Cabinet that this town will not give up on its theatre.

It’s not too late to contact your councillor.
Contact your councillor before the vote on the 4th September.
Tell them:
- What the theatre means to you
- You want them to review all evidence, not just one report
- The 58% scoring gap needs investigation before any final decision
- Cannock deserves better than cultural demolition
Be firm but respectful. Share your memories and your hopes. Ask them to look at our actual proposals before voting to destroy generations of cultural heritage. You can find your local councillor contact details at link.princeofwalestheatre.com/councillors
The council holds the power, but you hold influence. Every email matters. Every phone call counts. Every voice could tip the balance.
Thank you for standing with us.
