Newsletter #13: Community events, fundraising wins, and what’s coming next…

Another day, another park!

Our amazing volunteers were out in full force at Norton Canes Party in the Park last weekend, spreading the word about our mission to re-open the Prince of Wales Theatre! It was a brilliant day of sunshine, conversations, and community spirit at Norton Canes Recreation Ground.

This marks the third event our volunteers have attended in just the last month, following their fantastic presence at Chez Fest (Cheslyn Hay Festival) and the Great Wyrley Festival. What a great start to the Community and Events Committee, they’re truly making a difference.

“It was fantastic to meet so many local people, raise awareness, and enjoy the sunshine,” said Trustee Ben Farborther, who also supported at the event. “A huge thank you to our brilliant volunteers for organising and delivering such a great day!”

Let’s keep the momentum going – every voice and donation counts!

Pop by and say Hi – catch us at these upcoming local events!

As we head into the summer holidays, we’d love to see you at these upcoming events! We will be at:

📍 Seasons Theatre Company Summer Fair
Peace Memorial Hall, Penkridge
Saturday 19th July | 11am – 3pm

📍 Hednesford Park Festival
Saturday 9th August 2025 | 11am – 4pm

This is a great chance to meet our volunteers and find out more about what we are doing to try and re-open the Prince of Wales Theatre.

Exciting news: £20,000 donation brings us closer to our goal!

We’re thrilled to share that the Prince of Wales Theatre has received an anonymous corporate donation of £20,000, bringing us a big step closer to our £150,000 fundraising target by 2026.

This generous contribution is more than just a financial boost — it shows us that local businesses value what the theatre brings to our community. Their support reinforces the vital role we play as a cultural and social hub in the area.

Funds raised will help us make essential investments in the building and, ultimately, enable us to re-open the doors of the theatre — ready to welcome you back!

Together, we’re keeping the show going.

To everyone who has signed the petition, donated, volunteered, shared our posts, or simply believed in what we’re doing – thank you. You’re proving that when a community comes together, remarkable things happen.

The curtain hasn’t fallen on our theatre yet, and with your continued support, it never will.
