We know you haven’t heard from us in a while.
Since our public meeting in October, we’ve been working through a number of formal processes that needed to run their course quietly. The building is still standing. The campaign is still live. We just haven’t had anything to say that was worth landing in your inbox.
Until now.
Yesterday evening, Cannock Chase District Council held its first Full Council meeting under its new composition, with key post-holders formally appointed.
We think that’s a moment worth acknowledging – not for political reasons, but because a change of this kind creates a natural opportunity to remind those who now hold responsibility for Cannock’s future that we are still here, still ready, and still willing to talk.
Our position is simple and hasn’t changed. We want to work with the council, whoever that may be, to save the Prince of Wales Theatre. That building remains our focus, and will do until someone can prove unequivocally that saving it isn’t possible. More than 20,000 of you signed the original petition. Over £30,000 has been raised by this community. The case hasn’t weakened, and neither has our commitment to making it.
We’ve always kept this campaign out of party politics, and we’ll continue to do so. What we care about is Cannock, its people, and what this town deserves. That doesn’t change with election results or council appointments.
