What an incredible start to our fundraising journey! We’re writing to share some brilliant news about the momentum building behind our campaign to save the Prince of Wales Theatre.
Fundraising Launch: A Community United
Our fundraising kick-off meeting was a success, with over 35 passionate supporters turning up to roll their sleeves up and get involved. The energy in the room was great – it’s clear that our community won’t let this vital cultural heart of Cannock disappear without a fight.
From this fantastic turnout, we’re establishing three focused committees to tackle different aspects of our fundraising mission:
- Community & Events Committee – organising local events and grassroots fundraising
- Corporate Partnerships Committee – building relationships with local businesses and sponsors
- Grant Applications Committee – pursuing funding opportunities from trusts and foundations
🤝 Want to get involved?
Whether you’re brilliant at social media, love organising events, have a knack for writing grant applications, or possess any other skills you think could help, we’d love to hear from you. There’s a role for everyone, regardless of experience.
📅 Important Meeting Update
The next Community & Events Committee meeting has been moved to:
Tuesday 24th June 2025 at 7pm
Location: Cannock Hockey Club
We appreciate your flexibility and look forward to seeing you there!
Come and Find Us This Summer
We’ll be out and about across the district over the coming months, spreading the word about our campaign. Come and say hello, learn more about our plans, or simply show your support at these brilliant local events:
- Saturday 28th June – Great Wyrley Festival
- Saturday 12th July – Norton Canes Party in the Park
- Saturday 9th August – Hednesford Festival
These events are perfect opportunities to meet fellow supporters, pick up campaign materials, and help us reach even more people who care about preserving our local theatre.
Every Voice Matters
Your support – whether through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading the word – is what will make the difference. Together, we can ensure that future generations continue to enjoy live theatre, community events, and cultural experiences right here in Cannock Chase.
